Learning Spaces

Cosy reading corner

Children can snuggle up with a book in our inviting reading corner, designed to nurture early literacy and a genuine enjoyment of stories. Soft furnishings and a wide range of books encourage quiet moments, shared reading and language development.

Self‑regulation and wellbeing area

Our self regulation area is a calm and inviting space for children to sit and regulate their feelings. It has emotion cards, sensory toys and some books for children to read.

Reading area

Our reading area is full off lots of different fiction and non-fiction books. We have a reading bench where children can sit and read with their friends and encourage conversations.

Writing area

Our writing area is a chance for children to do mark making and to practice fine motor skills. We have our mark making resources out always for children to independently mark make and we have a funky fingers station for children to enjoy!

Maths area

Our maths area is filled with engaging activities for the children to take part in. It encourages problem solving, recognising numbers and counting 1-10.

Creative area

Here at little learners we love messy play! We enjoy painting, cutting and sticking, draw, junk model and explore different textures. We encourgae independence and children can access all of these resources

Role‑play area linked to our topics

Our role play area changes termly depending on our topic for the term. It could be a shop, or a cafe, or even a space station! The immersive role play areas encourages imagination and conversations amongst friends.

Tuff tray

We set up our tuff trays to be inviting and child led. Our indoor tuff tray changes weekly depending on our topic and children's interest.  We change our outdoor tuff tray termly depending on the topic we are learning about and children's interest.

Construction area

Our construction area encourgaes children to use different materials to make differnet arrangements. Our constuction area encourages our pre-schoolers to work together.

Small world area

Our small world area is set up daily for children to engage in our small world toys such as animals, cars and train tracks. This encourages the children to learn about the world around them through play.

Enhancements connected to learning themes

To keep learning fresh and exciting, we add enhancements throughout the room that link to our topics and children’s interests. These additions deepen understanding, extend curiosity and invite children to explore new ideas in meaningful ways.
